3 years, followed by an ‘improver year’
Advanced Level Apprenticeship
To ensure we develop our apprentices to be the best they can be, we are creating the Sparshatt Training Academy. Underpinned by our values of ‘trusted’, ‘expert’ and ‘excellence’, you will receive a high-quality learning experience meeting your needs delivered by the best in our industry.
While you train, you will work alongside a dedicated highly qualified Mercedes-Benz trained Technician, working on the latest automotive technology with up to date tools and equipment, gaining the skills and knowledge that will cement your future career as a Mercedes Benz Heavy Vehicle Technician.
The apprenticeship typically takes you three years to complete with the end point assessment taking place at the end of the third year. If successful, you will then progress to the ‘improver year’ to continue to embed all the skills and learning and aim to achieve the Mercedes-Benz Maintenance level qualification.
The off the job training will take place at our academy one day a week, supplemented by ongoing mentoring and support while in the workshop for the remaining four days.
You will need to demonstrate:
- A mechanical aptitude
- An interest and enthusiasm for the commercial vehicle industry
- An ability to work in an organised way and pay attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- The ability to follow written and verbal instructions
GCSEs at grade C/4 or equivalent in English and maths. Predicated grades are accepted but a job offer will be provisional dependent on grades.
Potential for continued employment on completion of the apprenticeship and training to progress to a Mercedes-Benz Maintenance Technician.

There is a high expectation that successful candidates will work hard, be conscientious and represent the company well on all occasions. Appearance, attitude, timekeeping and personal presentation will all be taken into account through the selection process.
